English name:
String of TurtlesLatin name:
Peperomia ProstrataAbout me:
I am a miniature member of the Peperomia family with delicate leaves that resemble the shell of a turtle, hence my common name. My delicately patterned leaves will keep you staring for ages!
Useful to know:
Origin
I am native to the rainforests of Brazil.
Height/Growth
I could cascade for about 50cm if treated well.
Light
I like bright, indirect light.
Water
Keep me moist but not wet - a drink once a week will probably do for me.
Temperature
I like normal room temperatures of between 16-23°C.
Feeding
Feed me with diluted liquid fertiliser every 2-3 weeks during spring.
Grooming
I love bright light but not direct sunlight - it scorches my leaves.
Care
If you notice my leaves wilting, you're overwatering me. Let me soil dry out a little before giving me more water.
Toxicity
Good news: I am pet-safe!
Fact
I can take a little while to adjust to my new home, so once you bring me in, please don't move me around to much - I like to stay in one place and make myself comfy. Click here to buy a similar plant String of Pearls.
