This plant, also known as the Red Cabbage Palm, has long, thin red leaves that droop down to create this fabulously regal effect. Light
Thrives in full sun to partial shade. It performs best with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily but can tolerate some afternoon shade, especially in hotter climates.
Water
Water regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.
Temperature
Temperatures etween 15-25°C are idedal. It can tolerate temperatures down to -5°C but should be protected from severe frost and freezing temperatures.
Feeding
Fertilise with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser during the growing season (spring and summer). Feed once a month for optimal growth. Reduce feeding in fall and winter.
Grooming
Remove dead or yellowing leaves regularly to maintain appearance and plant health. Trim any damaged or unhealthy parts to encourage new growth. Prune to shape the plant as needed.
Care
