The Philodendron hederaceum, also known as the Velvet Leaf Philodendron or the Philodendron micans, is a rare trailing plant from the rainforests of Central and South America.
The leaves uncurl in pale green, edged in pink, and then become a velvety, iridescent deep green with a deep purple-red color overleaf.
This sumptuous vina can be left to trail elegantly over bookshelves, or climb at your leisure.
The Philodendron Micans love humidity, so mist it semi-regularly with a mister or spray bottle. Keep the soil lightly moist in Summer, and wait for the top inch to dry out during the Winter months.
Comes with its own detachable hanger, so you can pop it straight up overhead and let your home breathe! Alternatively, it's very easy to unclip the hanger and pop it in a pot or basket, where it can sit on a shelf, desk or mantlepiece. Just make sure to pick a pot or basket that can accommodate the wide overhanging lip of the growing pot.
