I’m Mr Plant Geek, the guy who is curating every single box of plants that leaves the Bloombox Club HQ! Here’s some more info on where your plants can go, and why I’ve chosen them for you.
Small Outdoor Box:
This selection is one of my favourites so far. It’s stylish and mysterious, with black flowers against accents of blue and white. The mix will work in a sunny or partly position, either all in one container, or as part of a border scheme.
Blue Fescue (Festuca glauca ‘Elijah Blue’)
What a handsome plant this is! The grassy swards of this tufted grass are aqua blue, and always carry a summer hairdo of golden flower stalks. Stays neat and tidy, never sprawling!
Wall Bellflower (Campanula portenschlagiana ‘Ambella Lavender’)
Campanula is one of those un-killable plants! It can be planted horizontally or vertically, so can be naturalised in walls and crevices. This choice lavender colour can often be hard to find.
Heuchera ‘Black Beauty’
I just had to introduce you to the world of Heuchera- their foliage now comes in almost every colour of the rainbow, and always helps other plants to look good. This is one of the darkest too- some might even call it BLACK!
Iberis sempervirens (Candytuft)
A frothy little specimen, the Perennial Candytuft is the filler we have all been waiting for! Set it against the Heuchera for the ultimate in monochrome.
Cosmos atrosanguieum (Chocolate Cosmos)
Chocaholics stand back, this is the Chocolate Cosmos! The flowers are not only black and mysterious, but they also smell of dark chocolate! Another good looking plant, with a neat clump of foliage and the floaty flowers held a few inches above.
